The aliment, or food, in Grenoble is amazing! While there are some similarities there are definitely some clear differences. As a family, we eat most of our meals at home but I do have some pictures from when we went out for street food and from our recent weekend trip to Chamonix and Annecy.
As far as traditional French foods I have tried ratatouille (this is the recipe we used, http://www.beyond.fr/food/ratatouille.html), veal with mushrooms and carrots, and French cake with ham, cheese, and green olives.
When I talked to Clara about what American food she wanted to try she said nearly everything! Mainly, given that we are living in Arizona, Clara wants to try true Mexican food (here some burritos come with french fries and ketchup), burgers, and American sweets. I plan on taking Clara to try my favorite Chinese and Thai food as well!
So far the food here has been amazing and I'm very excited for Clara to try American food (although I'm worried it isn't going to be as good as French food). Clara thinks that American food is just bigger and less healthy than French food, which is sometimes true, but she is excited to try it! Although I love it here I do miss my family and Arizona.
Au Revoir,
Emma!
